Sunday Scripture

I didnt realise how many times the bible refers to "Snow" until I went looking for a suitable piece of scripture to go with this photo of the kids and I in the snow!

Eventually I settled on the Contemporary English Version (CEV) of Job 37:4-7

"God’s majestic voice thunders his commands,

creating miracles too marvelous for us to understand.
Snow and heavy rainstorms
make us stop and think about God’s power"

"on the Murray"

Here is my entry for the August "Kraft it Up" challenge, which this month required you to follow a sketch, and have layers.

These photo shows some of the layers.

I used papers from the Crate Paper "Toybox" range.

And as its Sunday, I have included some scripture!

"The earth belongs to the Lord, and everything in it—
t
he world and all its people.
He built it on the waters and set it on the rivers."

Psalm 24:1-2    New Century Version (NCV)

Final 2 Olympiad events!

Here are my final 2 layouts for the Scrabiz.biz Olympiad- and I am pleased that I was able to complete all of the events within the original time frame, with out needing the extension that has now been offered.

This first one is the "Closing Ceremony" layout, which used a sketch, plus the extra criteria of flags, stickers, something round and the word "Celebrate" or "Celebration".

I used the MME "Stella Rose" collection, and some stickers from Echo Park "For the record".

I scrapped this photo from the CFA Dinner Dance in June, when Steven received his 25 year long service award!

The other event I had left to complete was the Cycling!
For this one you had to use the sketch as well as wheels, chain and the word ride.

I scrapped a photo from when Tom's scout group ran a ride-a-thon at Calder Park Raceway to raise funds for their trip to the Jamboree in Sydney.

These MME papers were prefect with the bicycles all over them!
I ran my Maya Road chipboard gears through the cuttlebug in a Tim Holtz embossing folder.

"Breathe in........ Breathe out"

This is another of my entries for the Scrapbiz Olympiad.  It was the swimming event and you had to follow a sketch, as well as use a butterfly, have the word "breathe" on your layout and some freestyle elements.

I have journalling around the photo that highlights that on days when it all seems too hard you just have to keep going....breathe in..... breathe out..... and repeat!

"Paris Party"

From Screen to Scrap is celebrating its 3rd Birthday!

You can create a birthday themed movie poster, or follow one of the sketches which is what I decided to do!

My layout is all about Meg attending her friend Amy's 12th Birthday party, which was a French theme.

How cute are these MME papers?

"U2 make us so proud"

Over the weekend I had a go at Becci's July challenge at Challenge Inc.
The challenge was to use the letter 'U' and the number '2' in your title, and also use inking.

I loved these Simple Stories paper-  and I inked them all with my new go-to distress ink colour-  Brushed Corduroy!

"Please Sir"

Today there's a new tutorial over at the Scrapbook Boutique blog, and its one that I had a lot of fun creating!

How can you resist those big brown eyes and the pleading paws?!!!

I used the Bo Bunny Camp-a-lot papers, which featured some paw prints and the perfect colours to match Domino the beagle and his antics!

All the materials you need are available in the Scrapbook Boutique shop, and the full instructions are all listed on the Scrapbook Boutique blog.

"Why so Serious?" and "Perfect Balance"

Just home from a great weekend at the ScraphappyKat 2012 retreat in Nagambie.  A big hello to all my new friends who asked for my blog address-  great to meet you all! Leave me a comment and let me know you found it!

Here's one of the layouts I completed on Friday night-  using the sketch from the "Weightlifting" challenge at the Scrapbiz.Olympiad.  We had to use a sketch, and also include the following criteria-  Numbers, something heavy, and the word "weight".

These metal dog tags with the chevrons were a great match for the chevron's on Steve's uniform, and the numbers are on the kaisercraft paper.

I used the word "weight" in my journalling, and I have used a quote from scripture as well....

"Give your worries to the Lord, and he will take care of you. "

Psalm 55:22  New Century Version (NCV)

I've also managed to complete the "Gymnastics" challenge too, and I was lucky to have some perfect photos for this layout- thanks to Meg's gymnastics efforts!

For this one we needed to use the sketch, as well as ribbon. photos on a mat, bling, strip journalling and the word "Balance"
