Happy Anniversary

17 years ago today I married my soul mate!  Happy Anniversary Steven-  I'll love you til the deserts turn to ice and the camels come skating home!

Celebrating our anniversary today made it quite easy for me to pick a verse for my personal Scrapbooking Scripture Sunday challenge.

"What God has joined together, let no one separate"
Mark 10:9

I completed this layout for the Purple Pumpkin monthly sketch challenge.  This is the sketch..... I strayed a little from the original but I think you can still see the basics of the sketch in there somewhere!

I used the gorgeous purple pumpkin extra large dotty buttons and a few home made flowers to complete the layout.

"Love" Layout

I adore this photo of my Mum and Dad, which I took just a few days before their 43rd Wedding Anniversary!

The Crate Paper 'Paper Heart" collection was the perfect paper range to use to scrap the photo- especially as it had yellow paper which helped me to tie in the yellow from Dad's favourite hat!! LOL!

I have created a step-by-step tutorial over at the Scrapbook Boutique blog which will help you to create a layout of your own, including how to make the folded flower.  I have made this one using scalloped circles cut with the cuttlebug, but you can also make the flower using plain circles too!

Scrapbooking Scripture Sunday

Today St Mary's took our church services outside and enjoyed our annual "Pets on the Green"  animal blessing service as part of the Sunbury Community festival.  We took Domino the beagle with us but left the kitty cats at home!  So when I got home was inspired to scrap a "pets" related bible verse for today's "Scrapbooking Scripture Sunday" layout!

Let all of them praise the name of the Lord,
because he gave a command and they were created.
 Psalm 148:5

I have created this layout for the March Aussie Scrap Jacked challenge.  I chose Beth Jarrett's "Sunshine" layout to scraplift.  I loved the design she had used for the layout, and used it as  a sketch for mine.

I used the Crate Paper "Neighbourhood Collection" papers for this layout.  I'm glad I dug these papers out-  I had forgotten they had lots of Easter die cuts in the range- so I'm going to keep them out and get going on my Easter Cards!

Scrapbooking Scripture Sunday

This week I have chosen a Scripture from Matthew 6-  one that has become a real memory verse for me over the past 6 months or so.

‘So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today"  Matthew 6:34

I was inspired to use this verse for this month's "From Screen to Scrap" challenge, based on the movie poster from "The day after tomorrow"

The extra criteria were to use  a White title, One photo only and a White monochromatic layout with a touch of blue.

It's pretty obvious how the movie title inspired my title and journalling!

I also took inspiration from the way the poster is set out, with most of the "action" taking place on the right side of the layout.

Scrapbook Boutique March challenge and Blog Hop

There are two chances for you to win a prize on the Scrapbook Boutique Blog again this month!!

Your first chance to win is by having a go at our monthly inspiration challenge!
Complete a project inspired by this cupcake image, and include at least one handmade flower!

My first thought when I saw these gorgeous cupcakes was "How elegant".  The blues made me immediately think of the photo of my daghter Meg and I with our blue tongues, and then I realised that it was hardly an "elegant" photo..... and the title and layout "Not such Classy ladies just flowed from there!

For this layout I used Echo Park "Splash" papers, Co-dinations dotted cardstock, American Craft thickers, Tim Holtz Strip die, my Bow EasyMy Favourite things flourish die and the newest edition to my collection, the Memory Box Woodrow Die, which I used for my handmade flowers!

Entry is open to all Australian residents, and you need to upload your creation to the Scrapbook Boutique blog. The challenge closes at midnight on March 31st, and the randomly drawn winner will receive a $30.00 voucher to spend at the Scrapbook Boutique online shop!

For your Second Chance to win.....  be part of our Blog Hop, and you could win this gorgeous set of La-La Land "Marci with a Rose" stamp  Isn't she gorgeous?!!!

You have probably come to my blog from the blog of very talented and newest member of the Scrapbook Boutique DT, Linda Langes.  Your next stop is Sue's gorgeous blog!  Leave a comment on each DT members blog, and the Scrapbook Boutique blog too! The hop will be open for 1 week, closing midday  17th March, the winner will be announced on the SB blog on 18th March.

Scrapbooking Scripture Sunday & Show us your stuff challenge

Last week I boldly announced that every Sunday I would upload a layout that has a verse of scripture on it, and for the rest of the week I've been trying to work out what verse to use.  Problem is- I am completely spoiled for choice!  Meanwhile Tom has been hard at work  practising his trumpet pieces for the Sunbury Youth and Young Adults service tonight, and as they are playing one of our favourite songs "Everlasting God", I have had that going on constant repeat in my head!  (If you are not familiar with the lyrics for Everlasting God, here they are)

Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord

We will wait upon the Lord, we will wait upon the Lord

Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won't grow weary
You're the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on the wings
Like eagles

So today I decided to just open the bible and pick a verse from whatever page it fell open to.  It fell open to Isaiah, and in the last column these words just jumped out to me.......

'Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;    they will run and not grow weary,    they will walk and not be faint.'

Isaiah 40:30-31

A coincidence....... I think not!  And so here is my layout using Isaiah 40:30-31a

This layout is for the Show Us your Stuff February Part 2 challenge.  The challenge was a recipe challenge-

Use at least 3 pieces of patterned paper

(I used October Afternoon "Sidewalks")

Use 3 embellishments

(Handmade flower- by the gorgeous Carol from "Tattered Inspirations", Handmade banner-  made by me!, Ribbon Bows,-  also made by me!)

Use at least 1 heart
(Heart brads on my banner)
Use some paint somewhere on your layout!
(This one was the hardest!  Paint and me don't go well together, but I bubble wrap painted the background with pale pink Kasiercraft paint)

Crafty Sketches- March 2012

This months unique sketch at Crafty Sketches was created by Jules.
I stuck quite closely to the sketch this month!  Unusual for me! LOL!

The pennants on the sketch gave me the perfect opportunity to use the Fancy Pants "Beach Babe" chipboard banners that I have had in my stash for a while now and never got around to using!!

Upload your interpretation of the sketch to the Crafty Sketches Blog by March 31st for your chance to win a great prize from our sponsors!

Blessings,
