Scrapbooking Scripture Sunday + Kraft it up

Today my personal challenge of scrapbooking a verse of scripture every Sunday is based on the very famous verse from John 15, that is used at most Anzac Day commemorations, and perfectly suited this photo I took before everyone  left for the Anzac Day marches in Sunbury and Woodend.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
John 15:13

I have created this layout using the criteria for the Kraft it Up April challenge-  "use Kraft CS or PP as your base and we want to see another THREE kraft items on your layout"

Stuck Sketches

Today I wanted to share with you all a layout that I completed this weekend, using the current April 15th sketch over at Stuck Sketches

This is the basic layout, and below it is the sketch it is based on, and the layout as part of a double that I have completed.

But here is the fun bit!  Both sides of the layout fold and become a "pop-up" style layout that you can display on a shelf!

When I am finished with displaying it, it will lay flat and pop into my album just like any other layout!

It took a few prototypes to work out the measurements needed to make the layout "pop", but I'm really happy with the results!

Scrapbooking Scripture Sunday + Screen2Scrap

I had a play with the Screen 2 Scrap challenge this weekend, and found a bit of a quirky verse from Song of Songs that worked perfectly for my personal Scrapbooking Scripture Sunday challenge!!

"I long for your lips to kiss me!

Your love makes me happier than wine does."

Song of Songs 1:2

The challenge at Screen to Scrap this month was to be inspired by the movie poster for :"Ever After", and to incorporate the following 3 criteria:-
1) Add some bling! Use rhinestones, pearls, glitter or stickles to give your page some fairytale magic (I used glitter thickers for the title!)
2) Use a fairytale themed title, line from a movie/book or quote for your title. ("Happy ever after" in my case)
3) Journalling (can be hidden or visible) Write a sentence, a paragraph or more about your Cinderella Story (eg how you met, how long you have been together or something significant about your special Prince/princess! (I wrote a little about how we met in a pub on a Friday night, and now, like a good wine, we have matured and our idea of a perfect date is a Sunday lunch in a winery with a nice red!)

Keep your way pure

Only just scraping in with this week's Scrapbooking Scripture Sunday layout!  Phew!

This week I chose a photo and scripture for Tom, based on a verse from Psalm 119.

"How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word."
Psalm 119:9.

I used the criteria for this month's White with One challenge-  White + Grey + Tags/Tabs

The disadvantage with uploading this late in the day means that I have had to photograph the layout at night- and that makes it so hard to get a good photo!

Scrapbook Boutique April Challenge and Blog Hop

There are two chances for you to win a prize on the Scrapbook Boutique Blog again this month!!

Your first chance to win is by having a go at our monthly inspiration challenge!
Complete a project inspired by this  image, and use the colour scheme pink, white and green!

I took my inspirations from the little flowers, the spotted cups, the butterfly and the word Mum, by scrapping this photo I love of my Mum and my daughter.

Last month I jokingly set Sue Kohler a challenge to do some serious fussy cutting with some echo park paper she had (see her stunning example here).  This month she set me a personal challenge not to use any patterned paper!  Arghhhhhhhhhh!!  But I took the challenge!  Thanks to some gorgeous Core-dinations dotted cardstock, and a sanding block I was able to create a dotted background.  Then I put my cuttlebug and dies to good use and created the pretty little rosebuds, banners etc.

Entry is open to all Australian residents, and you need to upload your creation to the Scrapbook Boutique blog. The challenge closes at midnight on April 30th, and the randomly drawn winner will receive a $30.00 voucher to spend at the Scrapbook Boutique online shop!

For your Second Chance to win.....  be part of our Blog Hop, and you could win this gorgeous set of LilyBee Design stamps!

You have probably come to my blog from the blog of very talented and newest member of the Scrapbook Boutique DT, Linda Langes.  Your next stop is Sue's gorgeous blog!  Leave a comment on each DT members blog, and the Scrapbook Boutique blog too! The hop will be open for 1 week, closing midday  17th April, the winner will be announced on the SB blog on 18th April.

Blessings,
